Welcome to the home of
BMCC ESL (Level 1) Class of 2013!

Our class is part of the adult ESL Program offered by the Department of Adult and Continuous Education, Borough of Manhattan Community College, City University of New York in partnership with Hamilton Madison House. The teaching site is located at 50 Madison Street, New York, NY 10038.

The class meets 4 times a week, Monday-Thursday. It runs 4 hours a day, 9:00am-1:00pm.

Among the 28 students in the class, 22 of us are Chinese (19 are from mainland China, 2 from Hong Kong, 1 from Malaysia), 6 are Hispanic (5 from Columbia, 1 from Mexico). Among the 22 Chinese students, 10 speak Cantonese, 8 speak Fukianese, 4 speak Mandarin. Most of us are not working. We work really hard at our English because we know English is important for each of us to survive in this country, this city. We respect each other, help each other. We are like a big family. We enjoy staying in this class.
